Accommodation

Beech Haven consists of 29 single rooms, 16 of which have en-suite bathrooms. Each room is individually decorated and residents are able to furnish their room with their own furniture if they wish to do so. Each room contains a wash hand basin as well as its own phone point and television point. Our accommodation is suitable for day care and respite care as well as more long term arrangements. Residents are permitted to bring pets with them subject to prior arrangements being put in place.

Living & Dining

Residents have access to two lounge areas in which they can engage in individual or group activities. In addition, there is a large conservatory which overlooks the beautiful gardens in which our residents enjoy sitting. At meal times residents can either opt to eat in their own rooms or in the communal dining room which is a friendly, homely environment for them to socialise in whilst eating.

Our Staff

ROBIN CLARE
Registered Manager

Our Registered Manager and Lead Nurse is Robin Clare. Robin joined the Maricare group in 2014 having previously worked in a Clinical Lead role in another older people's care setting. Robin has been a trained Registered Nurse for over 40 years and he was able to train in both General Nursing and specialty Mental Health Nursing. This enabled Robin to work as a Community Psychiatric Nurse in the area giving him valuable local knowledge of the community.

Robin has always managed his learning and has recently achieved a Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership. He is very proactive in his approach to care and Nursing, ensuring all support is provided to the highest of standards.


 

LISA TANNER
Administrator

Lisa's background has been in Sales, Promotion Marketing and Administration. She joined the Maricare group in 2009 as Administration Assistant and has since worked her way up to Unit Administrator for the home and the group's registered offices. Lisa has developed her skills and oversees all business management processes including; billing, sales and invoices for residents. Lisa also manages the HR functions including; payroll, training management and financing. Lisa is a fully qualified Administrator holding a diploma in Sales and Promotion. She also has an NVQ in administration.


SANDRA MARSKELL
Deputy Manager

Sandra has worked in the care sector for the past 23 years. Sandra joined the Maricare group in 2014 as the Activities Co-ordinator and has since progressed in her career by becoming the Deputy Manager. Sandra's background has always been in elderly people care and support. She has a particular interest in ensuring meaningful activities are provided to everyone in a person centred manner. Sandra has achieved her Diploma in Health and Social Care, NVQ level 4 and is working towards a leadership development programme. She regularly delivers group and individual training to staff members, ensuring a high standard of care and support is given at all times.

Activities

We employ a Leisure and Wellbeing Coordinator who creates a bespoke programme of activities for each resident taking into consideration their individual likes and interests. Residents can engage in either individual or group activities such as exercise classes, quizzes, yoga, memory box, live entertainments and reminisces groups. We also promote monthly religious services and local outings. Residents are also encouraged and supported to attend events and activities in the community. In addition, the local GP visits the home regularly as does a hairdresser and a chiropodist.
